Our very own Brian Betzel was a judge in UGA’s “Next Top Entrepreneur” contest. This annual campus-wide competition is open to any UGA student with an idea for a start-up. A combination of American Idol and Shark Tank, UGA’s Next Top Entrepreneur gives students the opportunity to gain insight, build networks and acquire capital to launch their business. The winner, Osama Hashmi, proposed an idea of a software he’s designing with Vitamin C lead developer Jordan Burke that will allow physicians and other caregivers to easily keep track of how well patients are progressing during treatment or rehabilitation, through simple bud direct feedback from patients over the Internet. Brian agreed with the other judges, “He was really passionate and he understood the market he was going to be serving, and he’s the one who’s going to be instrumental in making the business work.”
Brian was also recently featured in the Terry College of Business magazine. You can find him in the “Terry Athenians” section along with other Terry Alumni that decided to live or work in the Athens area. Brian notes that his proudest accomplishment was when Infinity Network Solutions was selected as the “2013 Business of the Year” by the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce. In regard to what’s next, Brian said he “sees continued growth for Infinity in the small and midsized commercial business sector. Middle Georgia and north-east Georgia are key growth territories for Infinity.”
Way to go Brian!
